Pre-Development Grants Awarded
Ten local groups will share in $15,000 of Pre-Development Grants to assist community-led projects. The funding is a welcome boost for local projects that focus on connections, health, wellbeing and the environment.
The Pre-Development Grants have been awarded to:
- Boolarra Football Netball Club for a replacement defibrillator
- Yinnar and District Historical Society and Museum to upgrade lighting in two-buildings
- Mirboo North Pony Club for an arena rake for volunteers to maintain two arenas
- Gippsland Writers Network for two writing workshops for emerging writers
- Friends of the Lyrebird Forrest Walk for tools to maintain the Walk and Grand Ridge Rail Trail
- Jeeralang Boolarra Cricket Club for first aid equipment for use by teams and members
- Mirboo North Market Committee for local musicians to perform at the market each month
- Yinnar Bowls and Recreational Club for two sets of tenpin bowls for children and adults
- Cricket Latrobe Valley for new uniforms for 18 female players for the 2025-26 cricket season
- Mirboo North United Football Club for a set of mobile senior sized goals
Construction is planned to commence in mid-2025, when our Community Development Funds will increase to around $150,000 per year ($750 per megawatt installed). This will increase the opportunities for community groups to bring more ambitious projects to life. Since the project was announced in 2019, the Delburn Wind Farm has shared over $60,000 in grants to assist local groups to deliver vital community projects.
Celebrating Success
Congratulations to our Business Trainee, Molli Watts who achieved Dux VCE Vocational Major at Mirboo North Secondary College.
It has been a big year for Molli as she has worked hard to complete her year 12 and Tafe Business Studies, while working two days a week with OSMI Australia as an Administration Assistant.
Keep up the great work Molli, you have a bright future ahead of you!
