SEC to build Delburn Wind Farm in Gippsland
SEC will deliver Victoria’s first publicly owned, utility-scale wind generation project after announcing its 100 per cent acquisition of the Delburn Wind Farm in Gippsland today.
The Delburn Wind Farm will harness the power of wind to generate clean energy, reduce carbon emissions and deliver local benefits.
The Delburn Wind Farm is a project being developed by OSMI Australia.
The Delburn Wind Farm will be constructed to the south of the Latrobe Valley, overlooking the former Hazelwood Mine site in the Latrobe Valley. Situated above the existing HVP plantation, 33 turbines will generate 205MW of clean energy to the electricity grid. Construction is planned to commence at the end of Q1 in 2026 and scheduled for completion in 2028. With an operating life of 30-35 years, the wind farm will lead the way in helping Victoria transition to a low carbon emission future.

There are many roles that will be created throughout the delivery of the Delburn Wind Farm project – from planning, to construction and during the operations phases.
We are committed to employing local people as much as possible and procuring local business to share the benefits of the wind farm right across the community.
Our Community Benefits Scheme is designed to support near neighbours, community groups and stakeholders. We want to create lasting community connections to add value and help locals thrive.
